Archaeological Treasure in Peru to See Improvements

February 19, 2007 By: Mark Rogers Travel Agent

National Tourism Strategic Plan has announced a five-year plan to transform
Kuelap, an archeological fortress, into a leading tourism destination. Kuelap,
in the Alto Utcubamba Valley in northern Peru, will
undergo a series of improvements and restorations, including the installation
of a cable car that will reduce the time it takes to get to the site from three
hours to 30 minutes. Kuelap's neighboring cities will see improvements to
roadways, sewage systems, signage and accommodations.
