Archaeological Treasure in Peru to See Improvements

Peru's National Tourism Strategic Plan has announced a five-year plan to transform Kuelap, an archeological fortress, into a leading tourism destination. Kuelap, in the AltoUtcubambaValley in northern Peru, will undergo a series of improvements and restorations, including the installation of a cable car that will reduce the time it takes to get to the site from three hours to 30 minutes. Kuelap's neighboring cities will see improvements to roadways, sewage systems, signage and accommodations.
