TAP Portugal Ground Crew May Strike

The Telegraph is reporting that ground staff working for TAP Portugal, the country’s national airline, are threatening industrial action that could result in delays and cancellations to TAP flights across all major Portuguese airports. TAP flies from Gatwick Airport to the Azores, Madeira, Lisbon and Porto and from Heathrow to Madeira, Lisbon and Porto.

Several of the airline’s airport service providers are currently embroiled in a dispute over pay.

Customers with flights booked over the weekend have been advised to travel with hand luggage only. Passengers wishing to alter their flights will be able to do so free of charge, while full refunds will also be offered.

Earlier this year, approximately 150 TAP pilots took part in a four-day walkout in a protest over pay and conditions.
