With the holiday season in full effect, the best way to make your way up, down and around the Las Vegas Strip is through public transportation. In fact, when the Strip is shut off to vehicles and buses on New Year’s Eve, public transportation is the only way.

The Las Vegas Monorail ( will continue to operate throughout the night and morning, and is extending its promotional discounted fare to visitors at nine dollars for an all-day pass. “Rather than walking, visitors can let the Monorail do the driving for them, traveling the entire distance of the Strip in 15 minutes or less,” said Ingrid Reisman of the Las Vegas Monorail.

Meanwhile, another form of public transportation just launched in Las Vegas, composed of a network of buses and trolleys, which pull right up to hotels, city landmarks and local attractions. The Arrow ( began service in early November and features a contemporary fleet outfitted with video screens, which can be used for things like purchasing show tickets or club passes. is introducing a $10 combination ticket that provides unlimited daily rides on the Arrow and the Las Vegas Monorail. Single-ride tickets cost $2.50.
