Summer Firework Shows Over the St. Lawrence River

FireworksThis summer fireworks are not being exclusively reserved for the fourth of July. At least, they are not in Canada.

The Grands Feux Loto-Québec organization will be hosting six separate firework displays throughout the month of August. Centered on the St. Lawrence River, the pyromusical shows will last twenty minutes and take place every Saturday and Wednesday night at 10:30 p.m. from August 3 to August 21.

Each display will be in conjunction with a different event whose distinctive theme reflects an aspect of the culture and character of Québec City and Lévis. The six events that will precede the fireworks and music are as follows: Québec City Opera Festival on August 3, the New France Festival on August 7, the Festival Jazz Etcetera Lévis on August 10, Spotlight On Paris (in association with the Musée de la civilisation de Québec) on August 14, Wendake lights up the night sky on August 17, and finally the Québec City International Festival of Military Bands on August 21.

Admission to the pyromusical display is free on both the north and south shores of the St. Lawrence River. Fireworks will be launched from a platform floating on the river while being simultaneously broadcasted.
