Australia's Sunshine Coast Beaches Make a Quick Recovery

queenslands240

Last week the Hong Kong-flagged ship Pacific Adventurer dumped 30 tons of fuel into the waters off Queensland. Australia’s Sunshine Coast has reacted quickly and a comprehensive clean-up has seen 17 of the region’s 19 patrolled beaches reopen. A full recovery of all beaches is expected by the end of this week. Tourism Sunshine Coast, CEO, Russell Mason is encouraging visitors to go forward with their plans to vacation in the region. The oil spill reportedly did little to dampen enthusiasm for post-spill events such as the Noosa Festival of Surfing, which attracted crowds over the weekend.
