Results! Travel reports that its Puzzling for Profits educational incentive contest saw a 23.3 percent increase in overall agent participation over the inaugural year. The program gave away nearly $20,000 in cash and prizes based on participants completing a puzzle game board of supplier training that created a jigsaw scene of a beach landscape.
There was also a 55 percent increase in agent participation for five internal programs (Results! Travel Agent Advantage, Learning Management System, Stream, Worldwide Hotel Program and the Results! Travel National Meeting.)
Participants completed supplier training to increase their industry knowledge and sales skills by answering questions created in concert with the suppliers, and, in some cases, meeting minimum requirements for bookings during the contest. By successfully completing each module, Results! Travel Members earned individual puzzle pieces necessary to ultimately complete an actual 25-piece jigsaw puzzle, which in turn enabled them to win prizes.
For training with Viking River Cruises, the Results! Travel Puzzling for Profits participants completed three Viking Academy modules to earn one puzzle piece; they also had to complete two bookings within a four month time frame. For Funjet Vacations, participating Results! Travel Members had to enroll in Funjet’s Fun for Life Bonus Cash Rewards Program and complete four bookings.
Participating members completed a new training each week, which entered them in drawings for more than 40 prizes related to each participating supplier. In the end, a total of $20,000 worth of cruises, gift cards, airline vouchers and free hotel stays were awarded to participants. In addition to Viking River Cruises and Funjet Vacations, participating suppliers included: Celebrity Cruises, Delta Air Lines, Enterprise Holdings, Globus family of brands, Holland America Line, MLT Vacations, Norwegian Cruise Line and Travel2.
