Century Cruises Releases 2014 Itineraries for the North American Market

Century Cruises announced the 2014 deployment plan and itineraries for their vessels dedicated to the North America market. For 2014, Century Cruises will be offering the Western traveler their choice of departures offered on the new Platinum series vessels, Century Paragon and Century Legend as well as three most popular Crown series vessels, Century Sky, Century Sun and Century Diamond. All of these ships were designed specially for the Western traveler in collaboration with European naval architects Yran and Storbratten (architects for Disney Cruises, Seabourn, Holland America and Viking River Cruises among others) for the design of these new vessels.

Itineraries for the new Platinum series ships, Century Paragon and Century Legend (both launched in 2013) will remain the same in 2014 as 2013 with the Century Paragon and Century Legend both offering four day/three night itineraries downstream and five day/four night upstream between Chongqing and Yichang beginning March 11 through the end of November.

Century Paragon sails upstream on Fridays and downstream on Tuesdays. Century Legend sails upstream on Wednesdays and downstream on Sundays. Both vessels will offer guests a Yangtze River cruise experience including an opportunity to participate in a range of shore excursions and experiences such as a visit to the Shibao Pagoda, an educational tour of the Three Gorge Dam site and (a very popular new excursion introduced in 2013) a visit of the Shennv Stream via small local boats.

The itinerary for the Century Sky and Century Sun are also very similar to their 2013 routing. Both ships will sail four day/three night itineraries downstream between Chongqing and Yichang and five day/four night itineraries upstream on the same route. The Century Sky sails upstream on Sundays and downstream on Thursday.  The Century Sun sails upstream on Mondays and downstream on downstream on Fridays.  Highlights of these Yangtze River itineraries include also visits to the Shibao Pagoda, the Three Gorges Dam site.  New for 2014, the itinerary for both of these ships will also now include visits to the very popular shore experience to Shennv Stream via small local boats.

Also new for the 2014 season, the Century Diamond will introduce and offer a  longer six day/five night itinerary series between Chongqing and the vibrant city of Wuhan, gateway to the Shanghai, the financial center of China. This new itinerary includes all of the best elements of the shorter four/five day itinerary (detailed above) as well as adding a visit to the important ancient walled city of Jinzhou, including tours of the famous Jinzou Museum.  This new itinerary also offers guests a more relaxing time onboard as well as a view of China’s vast Central and Eastern Plain, an area important to China’s rice production. The Century Diamond will begin offering this new itinerary March 14, and run continuously through Nov. 25.
