European Waterways Enhances Sales Staff and Tools (VIDEO)

Managing Director Derek Banks

European Waterways has been adding sales staff and enhancing its sales tools to ease bookings for travel agents, said managing director Derek Banks

Among these tools is a secure, password-protected agent website, where a user-friendly reservations system allows travel agents to check availability and pricing, make reservations online for clients and download sales and marketing material such as brochures and photographs. Many agents have already signed up. New agents can email [email protected] and request an account from the sales team. Full details are also available on the Travel Agents area of the website GoBarging.com.

European Waterways also continues to expand its Vimeo channel at http://vimeo.com/album/2303918, where a wide range of short “white label” video clips are available to agents. They can embed these videos on their own websites, use in e-marketing campaigns, or forward to their clients. Professionally produced, these videos are especially powerful in taking viewers on a virtual tour of some of the most popular hotel barge cruises and the beautiful destinations they travel to in France, Holland, Italy and the British Isles. Here is an example:

European Waterways also recently hired Debbie Petermann, former owner of boating holiday company Le Boat, to enhance its sales efforts by establishing a U.S.-based office to respond to travel agent queries. It also brought onboard Mark Robinson as sales and reservations manager in the U.K. office to lead its sales team.

European Waterways offers at least 10 percent commission on all bookings.
