New Viking European Itinerary For 2011

April 15, 2010 By: David Eisen

Viking River Cruises has a brand-spanking-new European itinerary for 2011. The "Passage to Eastern Europe" itinerary features an eight-day cruise along the Danube River with stops in five different Eastern European countries—Hungary, Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria and Romania—plus two nights in Budapest and one night in Bucharest.

During the 11-day itinerary, guests will visit three major Eastern European capitals—Budapest (Hungary), Bratislava (Slovakia) and Bucharest (Romania)—in addition to quaint villages and riverside towns. Highlights during the itinerary are sailing amid the natural wonders of the Danube River’s Iron Gate region, touring the rocks of Belogradchik and seeing the Roman ruins at Viminacium. Onboard lectures, part of Viking’s Culture Curriculum program, will also be front and center.

The Passage to Eastern Europe itinerary is available March through November aboard the Viking Primadonna, which has balcony staterooms on both the Upper and Middle decks. All-inclusive pricing, starting at $2,156 per person, reflects the 2011 Early Booking Discount of 2-for-1 cruise and land pricing. If guests act by May 28, 2010, they can also save $1,000 per couple on all-inclusive roundtrip international air and transfers, and also receive complimentary wine with dinner on board.
