Uniworld Expands Inclusions for 2014

avignon, franceUniworld is introducing a new “Super Ship,” the S.S. Catherine, a new destination in Bordeaux, France, and two new itineraries for 2014, as well as changes to the line’s onshore program that focus on personalization.

Additionally, in 2014 Uniworld will expand its inclusions, which currently comprise non-alcoholic beverages, wine and beer served during lunch and dinner onboard;  all meals onboard; fully hosted shore excursions; Internet and Wi-Fi; and all arrival and departure amenities, to also include unlimited wine, beer, spirits, soft drinks and bottled water and all gratuities for all onboard and onshore services, including pre- and post-cruise extensions.

Guy Young, president of Uniworld, said, “Our decision to move to offering a truly all-inclusive experiences was largely based on feedback from our guests and travel agency partners. We believe this will help us further establish our positioning at the very top end of the river cruise sector.”

The new “Super Ship,” the S.S. Catherine, will launch in France in 2014 as a sister ship to the S.S. Antoinette. The new ship will sale the Rhône and Saône Rivers and will be styled to reflect its surroundings, the line says. The River Royale, which currently sails these rivers, will move to the line’s newest destination, Bordeaux.

Uniworld’s two new itineraries for 2014 will focus on Bordeaux: the eight-day Bordaux, Vineyards & Cheateaux and the 15-day A Portrait of Majestic France.

2014 will also see Uniworld expand personalization in its onshore program. Young said, “We continue to move away from the ‘one size fits all mold’ as that is what a ‘true boutique experience’ is all about. Just like the ‘uniqueness’ of our ships, we are creating the same approach for our guests with a more personalized and unique approach to their onshore experience.”
