American Airlines, American Eagle Increase Mexico Service

Puerto VallartaStarting November 18, American Airlines and its regional affiliate, American Eagle, will increase its service to and from Mexico, in part as a result of suspension of flights by Mexicana Airlines as of August 11, American Airlines says. Additionally, the airline announced plans to codeshare with Alaska Airlines/Horizon Air later this year, whereby it would place its AA code on flights operated by Alaska Airlines or Horizon Air in the following U.S.-Mexico markets, subject to regulatory approval.

New flights operated by American Airlines include daily round trips between Dallas/Forth Worth and Mexico City starting November 18, increasing from four to five and daily roun trips between Miami and Mexico City, increasing from three to four. Daily roundtrip service between Miami and Cancun will increase from four trips on weekdays and five on weekends to five every day of the week February 10, 2011. On December 16, one new flight will be added between Chicago and Mexico City.

Increases on American Eagle's new flights include service between Dallas/Fort Worth and Guadalajara, where two daily round trips, one on American Airlines and one on American Eagle, will increase to two daily round trips on American November 18 and three daily round trips and one round trip on American Eagle December 16.

On November 18, service between Dallas/Fort Worth and Aguascalientes will boost from one daily round trip to two on American Eagle. Service between Leon and Dallas/Fort Worth will increase from three to four on December 16, followed by new round trip service between Dallas/Fort Worth and Veracruz as well as between Dallas/Fort Worth and Queretaro both February 10, 2011, subject to government approval.

Service on which the airline announced plans to codeshare with Alaska Airlines/Horizon Air includes between Los Angeles and Mexico City, Guadalajara, La Paz, Loreto, Mazatlan, Puerto Vallarta, Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo and Manzanillo, as well as between San Diego and Puerto Vallarta, and San Francisco and Puerto Vallarta.
