Delta Air Lines Adds Direct U.S.-Angola Service

Mosque of Ibn Tulun, Cairo Delta Air Lines will add Luanda, Angola as its eighth destination in the airline's Africa route network January 20, 2011, available for booking October 2. Operating three times a week on-board the 243-seat Airbus A330-200 aircraft, service will fly between Delta's hub at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and Luanda, with an intermediate stop in Dakar, Senegal.

Service will depart Atlanta at 11:05 a.m. and arrive in Luanda at 8:25 a.m. the next day every Monday, Thursday and Saturday. From Luanda, flights will depart at 10:30 p.m. to arrive in Atlanta at 9:40 a.m. every Tuesday, Friday and Sunday. Current service between Atlanta and Africa includes Cairo, Lagos in Nigeria, Johannesburg in South Africa, and Monrovia, Liberia.
