Starting next spring and summer, Delta Air Lines will expand its international schedule with increased service in Asia and Europe, further developing its focus on markets concentrated in business travel. Following its revenue growth exceeding 50 percent in Asia, the airline plans to debut service to Shanghai and Manila and has applied with the U.S. Department of Transportation to begin new routes to China's Beijing and Guangzhou, among other places.
Cities throughout Asia included in the airline's expansion include service between Tokyo-Narita and Manila, Philippines and between Altanta and Shanghai. Throughout Europe, new routes include Boston to London-Heathrow, Miami to London-Heathrow and Boston to Paris-Charles de Gaulle. In addition the airline will feature service routes between Seattle and Amsterdam, as well Pittsburgh and Paris-Charles de Gaulle. Subject to government approval, Delta has planned service between Tokyo-Narita and Guangzhou; between Detroit and Beijing and between New York-JFK to Reykjavík, Iceland.
Starting early next year, Delta will also expand its Africa network, with service between Atlanta and Luanda, Angola, with a connection Dakar, Senegal. Once this goes into effect, Luanda will be Delta's eighth African destination.
