AmEx, TIA Join Forces To Promote U.S. Travel

American Express and the Travel Industry Association of America have formed a new alliance to promote inbound international travel, as well as domestic travel within the U.S. American Express and TIA will combine their industry knowledge, communications channels and presence in the marketplace to develop marketing programs for consumers and agents. They will also create joint initiatives to help U.S. travel companies grow and remain competitive. American Express will take an expanded role as a partner with TIA in such events as TravelCom 2006 and the Travel Industry Summit. "The quality of TIA's membership, reputation in travel research and demonstrated ability to create high-quality events provides an excellent opportunity for us to help support the industry," said Rocco Laterzo, senior vice president and general manager, travel & entertainment industries, American Express, and a TIA board member, in a statement.
