Following its inaugural International Destination Expo (IDE) in Prague March 21–26, ASTA this week announced that 400 travel agents had completed the in-country training program offered at the event. Among the educational events held at the Expo were a trade show, one-on-one meetings with suppliers, product seminars and sightseeing. On one day, the 550 U.S. agents in attendance could choose from several sightseeing tours of Prague; at the end of the conference, there was an opportunity to take a day trip outside the city. Destination seminars included training on the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Germany, Austria, Romania, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Macedonia and Croatia, and pre- and post-tours were available.
