ASTA is warning agents of potential conflicts with local chambers of commerce who may be competing with agent members.
“This issue has become, and rightly so, a serious matter of concern for travel agencies and tour operators across the country who are already facing numerous challenges in their struggle to stay in business, only to find themselves in competition with the very organization that purports to support them,” ASTA said. “If your local Chamber of Commerce is competing against you in the sale of travel, ASTA has prepared a grassroots public relations plan for you and other travel agents in your area to use in alerting the media and your community to this unfair practice.”
