B2B Tour Booking Platform Rezdy Expands Into United States

A new online distribution platform for tours, activities and attractions is entering the U.S. market. Rezdy has raised $1.8 million in capital funding to open a U.S. office in Las Vegas, where travel industry veteran Bob Gilbert will lead the company’s U.S. sales team.

Originally headquartered in Sydney, Australia, Rezdy hosts inventory from tour and activity providers in a cloud-based platform. Tour, activity and attraction providers from more than 85 countries are available. Over $1 billion in bookings are made every year through Rezdy, representing more than 45,000 bookable traveler options.

Through Rezdy travel agents can contract directly with suppliers, or opt in to distribute at the supplier’s standard rate and commission. Rezdy has no booking fees for travel agents. Additionally, the Rezdy software handles all distribution and cash collection.

Rezdy is powered by an open API platform and architecture that allows suppliers and travel operators to integrate internal systems and web applications within the booking platform. In addition to travel agents, Rezdy provides tour and activity companies access to distribution channels including online travel agencies, hotel concierges and visitor information centers.

Andrea Kowalski, investment director at Bailador Technology Investments, which led the round of funding that is fueling the company’s U.S. expansion, said that the company already had a strong foothold in the U.S. prior to the opening of the new office.

“Rezdy currently generates more than half its revenue outside of Australia, demonstrating its ability to successfully compete globally,” Kowalski said.
