Geoff Buckley has been appointed managing director of Tourism Australia by its board. The appointment is effective immediately. Buckley had been serving as Tourism Australia's acting managing director following the resignation of Scott Morrison; Buckley also was Tourism Australia's director of strategy and research. The board plans to conduct a two-day meeting early next month, with time devoted to a major strategy session to build momentum heading into the new year, says Tim Fischer, chairman of Tourism Australia.
