Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) has announced that Cruise.com has joined CLIA as its newest Premier Agency Member. As part of this new relationship, Cruise.com has introduced a new Certified Travel Specialist Program, which requires that any travel professional enrolled in the program must complete their CLIA Certified Cruise Counselor (CCC) certification.

The new program expands on Cruise.Com’s Host Agency affiliate program and was designed for independent business owners and entrepreneurs with little to no experience in the cruise or travel selling industry. Through extensive product and technical training, the program provides the tools and self-marketing capabilities for new agents to be successful in selling cruises. Enrolled agents will also receive Cruise.Com’s Travtech Certification, which includes training in the use of booking engines, electronic invoicing, online reporting, search capabilities and more.

In a written release, Anthony Hamawy, president of Cruise.com, said "This joint effort between Cruise.com and CLIA is an opportunity for professionals seeking a career in the travel industry to receive the certification and tools to help them succeed. New agents receive training certification, technology and a fully hosted website. You can’t ignore the opportunity if you’re a professional seeking an alternative career.”

CLIA Premier Agency Members and their affiliated agents who join CLIA as Individual Agent Members have access to a variety of resources, tools and benefits to help grow their business and elevate their profiles within the cruise industry.

Cruise.com is one of the internet's largest cruise specialists offering comprehensive itineraries and ship details for more than 70 cruise lines worldwide. In addition to cruises, Cruise.com's full-service team offers a wide menu of other services including a variety of land packages and tours, shore excursions, vacation homes and villas.
