First Annual PATA Summit Announced

The Pacific Asia Travel Association has confirmed initial details of the first-ever Annual PATA Summit, a forum for the world's travel and tourism leaders to focus on strategic issues impacting the industry. When asked if travel agents would be invited to participate in the summit, Jim Ferguson, regional director of North America for PATA, replied, "Most certainly all PATA Chapter members (and any retail travel agents) are invited to this planned for mid-April 2008 event in Bangkok." The Burba Hotel Network and the Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation have agreed to partner with PATA on the Summit. It's expected that the summit will create an opportunity for travel industry leaders from all sectors of the industry--including destinations, hotels, attractions, tour operators, airlines and cruise lines--to come together to focus on strategic business issues.
