Happy Vacations said that it has completed filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy (filing number 09-53046 RLE) in San Jose, CA. The company also updated information for all Alaska Airlines reservations.
“Effective immediately, all unticketed reservations have been released and may be acquired by another tour operator for ticketing," the company said in a released statement. "Please contact your preferred tour operator and Alaska Airlines will protect the original class of service.”
Happy Vacations ceased operations on April 20 after 40 years in business. Unconfirmed media reports say that as many as 1,000 travelers could be impacted. Major tour operators have moved quickly to offer re-booking options.
