Orbitz Marks Five-Year Anniversary, Releases List of Hottest Destinations

Orbitz, the online travel booking engine, released data showing that Chicago ranked as the top domestic destination booked by clients during its initial five years of existence. London ranked as the number one international spot. Rankings were based on air-only tickets sales from June 5, 2001 to June 5, 2006. The company released the data in conjunction with marking its five-year anniversary. On the domestic list, Las Vegas was number two, followed by Orlando, New York and Los Angeles. On the international list, Cancun ranked number two followed by Toronto, Paris and Vancouver. Additionally, Orbitz travel experts released a list of destinations "that are sure to be some of the most popular within the next five years."
