Sherwood Resigns as President and CEO of Orient-Express Hotels

Orient-Express Hotels Ltd. says president and CEO Simon Sherwood "has tendered his resignation to pursue other interests." Sherwood remains in his current position until August 2007 to facilitate the handover of duties to a new chief executive; a search for that role will now begin, says the company. Sherwood was with the company for 13 years; Orient-Express is an owner or part-owner and manager of 49 luxury hotel, restaurant, tourist train and river cruise properties in 25 countries. Perhaps its most famous assets are the Venice-Simplon-Orient-Express train and the Hotel Cipriani in Venice.
