Stats: Travelers Spend $947 Billion in U.S. in 2015

Domestic and international travelers in the United States spent $947 billion worth of expenditures in 2015, according to the Impact of Travel on State Economies (ITSE), 2016 Edition report, which was just released by the U.S. Travel Association

According to the report direct traveler expenditures supported 8.2 million jobs in 2015, leading to generated $232 billion in American wages and salaries for workers. This translated into $148 billion in tax revenue from spending for federal, state and local governments in 2015.
