Contiki has released a new study ranking Millennials’ most-wanted travel experiences for 2017. The study, which polled over 5,000 Millennial travelers around the world, found that these are the top travel experiences Millennials would regret missing most in 2017:
- Bathe in Iceland’s Blue Lagoon
- See the Great Pyramids of Giza
- Walk the Great Wall of China
- Chill out on the beach in Byron Bay
- Learn how to make pizza in Italye
- Road trip down route 66
- Float on a gondola through the canals of Venice
- Kiss someone at the top of the Eiffel Tower in Paris
- Watch sea turtles lay their eggs in Costa Rica
- Go on a picnic in the French countryside
- Party in Las Vegas
- Visit Yosemite National Park in the USA
- Watch the sunrise over the Ayers Rock in Australia
- Snorkel in the Great Barrier Reef in Australia
- See the Mona Lisa at the Louvre in Paris
- Try all of the gelato in Rome
- Explore the Grand Canyon by helicopter
- Cuddle a Koala in Queensland
- Zip line through the rainforest in Costa Rica
- Ride a bike through Amsterdam
Other key findings from the report include the fact that 71 percent of Millennials view experiences as the most important thing in their lives. When asked what experiences are most important to them, 75% of young people in the U.S. indicated social experiences, followed by:
- Cultural (61%)
- Food & culinary (61%)
- Intellectual (60%)
- Religious or spiritual (39%)
- Adrenaline/sport experiences (28%)
More than half (58%) of young people in the US view learning about other cultures and appreciating natural beauty as the most motivating reasons to travel, followed by:
- To slow down and chill out (53%)
- To see something iconic (46%)
- To learn a new skill (33%)
- To meet new friends (25%)
- To release an inner daredevil (15%)
- To find love (12%)
