TRAVELSAVERS and TRX Sign Res Tech Deal

TRAVELSAVERS and TRX Inc.,  a global leader in travel technology and data services, announced  a new deal allowing TRAVELSAVERS to expanded its mid-office quality control and reservations technology. The move will help travel agencies increase productivity and decrease costs.

The new technology is a reservation-processing platform enabling efficient, automated quality control, file finishing and ticketing of travel reservations. By eliminating manual processes, the system helps increase agent productivity, reduce front- and back-office errors and cut costs. The platform also allows agents to consolidate pre-travel and reservation reporting across multiple Global Distribution Systems (GDSs), third-party and corporation-specific databases and other sources of traveler-specific information.

TRAVELSAVERS and TWIN (TRAVELSAVERS Worldwide Independent Network) agencies can now access the superior technology of the new platform through a service bureau. This eliminates technology infrastructure concerns and costs associated with in-house quality control services TRAVELSAVERS says. It will also enable agencies to reallocate resources for other strategic initiatives. Three levels of preferred pricing are offered based on transaction volume, making the new platform affordable for agencies of all sizes.

“The new technology automates many of the mid-office processes that travel agents were handling manually, helping them save time and money,” said Betty Tilton, vice president of corporate sales at TRAVELSAVERS and TWIN. “Technology is the great equalizer and it levels the playing field. Agencies that take advantage of the full scope of our technology products are in the strongest competitive position. The preferred pricing levels we’re offering make entry easy for agencies because they can avoid the entire process of having to negotiate licensing agreements.  All they need to do is sign up for and start using the product.”

Shane Hammond, TRX president and CEO, added: “Our agreement with TRAVELSAVERS, a long-time RESX online booking client, expands our existing relationship and provides a great opportunity to leverage their vast agency network to further establish CORREX’s category leadership as a reservation processing platform. Those agencies choosing the new platform will quickly realize additional efficiencies and cost savings within their mid-office operations.”

TRAVELSAVERS has 3,000 independently owned full-service travel agencies in 14 countries that generates more than $18 billion in annual travel industry sales.
