Vacation.com Expands Regional Events

travel agentVacation.com reports it is expanding its regional events in 2013 to 10 different cities. The spring regionals will be held February 27 (Tampa, FL), March 27 (Philadelphia, PA), April 2 (Boston, MA), and April 11 (Garden Grove, CA). Six additional regional events will be held in the fall.

Vacation.com’s regional events feature a trade show, supplier training opportunities and Vacation.com company training and updates, the consortia says. They are an alternative to members unable to attend Vacation.com’s International Conference & Trade Show.

For those attending Conference, the regionals serve as a more personalized complement to the larger Conference, Vacation.com says. The theme for the 2013 spring regionals is “Take the Lead” – empowering members to break free from the pack and “Take the Lead” in life, in profits, in their niche, and in their city.

“Because these events have been so well-received among our members, we decided to add four regionals this year to offer more of our agents an opportunity to meet face-to-face with their Account Development Managers and other Vacation.com leadership to learn how we can best help them boost their profits,” said Vacation.com President John Lovell.

“The added time to network with our suppliers, staff, and fellow members – and the more personalized focus of these events – makes attending regionals a must for any agent. The best part is that we bring many of the elements of Conference to the member, making it easy for them to connect with us in a city near them," Lovell said.

Events will begin with a one-hour “Smart Start” session catering to new Vacation.com members to provide a more agent-specific approach and to help agents better maximize their time. Following the Smart Start session, Vacation.com will welcome all members for two-and-a-half hours of supplier product training and an in-depth look at the latest Vacation.com programs.

A Vacation.com Account Development Manager will be on site to share relevant region-specific training. Members of Vacation.com’s training and member services teams will also be on hand to answer any questions participants may have about utilizing Vacation.com’s many tools and services. A networking reception and an extended trade show featuring 30 suppliers, is also featured.

There is no cost to Vacation.com members to attend the events. Member agencies interested in participating in one of the spring regionals can register via Vacation.com’s Agent Universe Web portal at www.agentuniverse.com.
