Vacation.com’s Mobile Training Unit A Hit With Agents

Vacation.com reports that its Mobile Training Unit has visited over 120 member agencies, touching over 500 individual agents across North America since its launch in 2007. The Mobile Training Unit is a team of training specialists who travel to member agencies to personally educate frontline agents on Vacation.com products and services, including EZguider, Vacation.com’s new desktop technology, the Engagement marketing program and AgentNet.

“Vacation.com’s wide-ranging suite of member benefits means nothing if our members are not using them,” said Steve Tracas, president and CEO of Vacation.com. “The Mobile Training Unit not only ensures that our members are aware of our programs, but that they’re using them to their fullest, most profitable capacity.”

Dolphin Travel’s Liz Mendel, one of the first agencies to ever host the Mobile Training Unit, agreed. “[The training specialist] patiently walked us through VacationPort’s e-mail marketing capabilities, blocked space on cruises, and so much more. We…have been missing out on many of the benefits of membership in Vacation.com.”

Geoff Stewart, manager of Vacation.com’s training and member development, expects those numbers to rise in the coming years, especially as more member agencies adopt the new leisure booking tool, EZguider.

“We have a robust online training program already in place for EZguider to get our members started,” said Stewart. “But EZguider is a comprehensive tool, and our agents need comprehensive training. The Mobile Training Unit provides that training in the comfort of their own agency, on their own computers. With so many agents naturally turning to EZguider and looking for other ways to harness their Vacation.com membership, I expect 2009 will be a busy year for us.”

The Mobile Training Unit is just one part of Vacation.com’s acclaimed Training and Member Development department, which also encompasses an annual Conference that attracts more than 1,100 agents, a regional training format in Canada, as well as a wide range of instructional Webinars and seminars.
