Russian Airline Announces Schedule Changes, New Terminal

Aeroflot, Russia’s leading air carrier and a member of the global SkyTeam alliance, has announced upgrades and changes for the airline including the opening of the Sheremetyevo 3 Terminal D, a new Airbus 330-200 and changes to the airlines flight schedule.

Aeroflot’s new Terminal D will have its grand opening in February. The terminal is expected to become Russia’s main air hub at the Sheremetyevo International Airport in Moscow and will be home to most of Aeroflot’s domestic and international flights, as well as flights by SkyTeam members and partner carriers.

Terminal D will be the most modern and hi-tech facility at the Sheremetyevo airport and will handle up to 12 million passengers a year, nearly doubling the throughput capacity of the airport. The Terminal will also display digital copies of paintings from the State Russian Museum and the National Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts.

Aeroflot also announced the following changes to their schedule including the addition of several flights:
•    Flight 316 from JFK to SVO will now depart from New York at 7:05 p.m.;
•    Flight 315 from SVO to JFK will now arrive in New York at 5:00 p.m.;
•    From June 1 through September 30 four additional flights will be added, bringing the total to 11 flights weekly from New York’s JFK airport to Moscow;
•     Flights SU317 and SU318 between Moscow and Washington will now operate on Thursdays.

Aeroflot has continued expansion of the Company’s fleet with the addition of the Airbus 330-200, with 34 business-class and 207 economy-class seats.
