Adventure & Outdoor Exploration

Beginner’s Sailing Lesson at The Capella Marina – For Millennial clients with young children, this class is a fun way to learn about the history of Marigot Bay and its role as one of the top Caribbean havens for yacht owners. Also a fun way to enjoy the Caribbean Sea and learning to sail at the same time. This introductory class (which is a certified course) will cover the basics of sailing theory and practice in a fun and interactive session. Guests will thrill in the excitement in taking the helm, hoisting the sails and reading the wind and water. A full day of lessons (eight hours) starts at an all-inclusive price of $1,300 and includes the use of a boat, instructor, picnic lunch and non-alcoholic beverages. One weeks’ notice required. Suitable for children 10 years and older.

Marigot Bay Ridge Climb – With a guide, guests walk the trail located across Marigot Bay which offers spectacular views of the resort and you’ll also see neighboring Martinique and the spectacular Caribbean Sea. The climb takes place every Thursday at 11:00 am. Suitable for children 10 years and older.

Food and Culture Immersion

Ti Mange Cooking Class - Foodies can master Saint Lucian dishes with Capella Marigot Bay’s culinary team led by Executive Chef Billy Boyle. These two hour classes enable guests to learn about the flavors and techniques of Caribbean-style cooking while also incorporating Saint Lucian ingredients. Cooking class includes lunch. Priced at $150 per adult.

Forage to Fork Safari - With this Forage to Fork experience, Capella will take guests on a journey to discover local culture by visiting a third-generation estate, located on Latille Estate along the East Coast in the community of Micoud. Owned by a local Rastafarian who lives and works the land handed down to him by the generations before him you will join him in harvesting fruit and vegetables for your authentic Saint Lucian lunch. Travelers will also learn about traditional methods of cooking and baking national dishes like the “Roast Bake,” a bread that Saint Lucians serve at every meal, as well as make their own coffee and prepare lunch with handpicked vegetables in a clay pot. 

Later, guests will enjoy the fruits of their labor, served in a calabash, and listen as the estate's owner shares his knowledge about the trees, herbs, and fruits of St. Lucia. Half-day tour (minimum for four hours). Priced at $245 per adult and includes car transfers both ways with guide, lunch and non-alcoholic beverages.

Rum Tasting Class – Head to Capella’s Rum Cave bar where the resort's experts will teach the history and process of rum production, as well as guide guests through a tasting of the different blends of aged rums produced in Saint Lucia and the Caribbean. Maximum number of attendees is 10 persons. Priced at $35 per adult. Includes rum tastings and canapes.

Rum Infusing Class - Customize spiced rum with the help of the resort's experts. The experience begins with a visit to the Castries Market accompanied by a guide to shop for indigenous spices that travelers will later use to create their own infused rum. The next stop will be to the Saint Lucia Rum Distillery where guests will meet a team of distillers and blenders. They will share their expertise and tell tales such as that of the Forgotten Cask Rum, overlooked after the distillery had a major fire. Back at the resort’s Rum Cave, the master infuser will introduce guests to three distinct rums. With his assistance, travelers will create their own infused bottle of rum. Half-day tour ranging from three to four hours. Priced at $235 per adult. Includes car transfers both ways, a guide, purchase of spices, rum tasting and distillery tour and rum infusing session with canapés in the resorts Rum Cave.

Crafted Cocktail Class - Guests can join the resort's mixologist at the Rum Cave Bar for an interactive class where you will learn and create Capella’s popular signature cocktails so that you can replicate your experience at home. Priced at $55 per adult and includes light snacks.

New Farmer's Market

For travelers who want a real local food experience, after a multimillion-dollar makeover, Capella Marigot Bay’s private Capella Marina has introduced a series of new programs for yacht owners, guests and locals, including a farmers market that will take place every Sunday at the Capella Marina Village Courtyard. Curated by Executive Chef Billy Boyle, the farmers market will feature the freshest produce from local farmers and handmade food items by Boyle. 

The farmers market will offer local spices, nutritious island fruit smoothies, Lucian inspired pastries and preserves courtesy of chef Boyle and his team of talented chefs. There will also be handicrafts produced by local artists. As Capella Marigot Bay’s suites are equipped with full gourmet kitchens, guests also have the option of stocking their refrigerator with produce to cook their own meals or book a chef from the resort to help prepare a private in-suite feast.

After guests have finished shopping at the farmers market, they can take a leisurely stroll down the Marina Boardwalk or visit the shops at Capella Marina, which include high-end fashion, jewelry outlets and an art gallery.
