Rendezvous St. Lucia Rolls Out $12.5 Million RenovationApril 2, 2015 By: Newswire
Rendezvous in St. Lucia has announced the completion of a $12.5 million renovation and interior design update to its Seaside Suites and Verandah Suites, including new bathrooms, room layouts, furniture and color schemes, as well as the upcoming addition of a new a la carte beachside restaurant, Malabar.
On the ground floor, Rendezvous’ Seaside Suites allow guests access to decks with views of the beachside pool, the Caribbean Sea, and the property’s tropical gardens. Each suite was fitted with new closets, and new furniture, including fine hardwood pieces and a king-sized bed, in addition to a new open bathroom, with a spacious bathtub and dual vanities. Additionally, the suites now have large floor-to-ceiling glass doors that open to the outdoors, letting in the ocean breeze and maximizing natural light in the space. The suites’ selling point, the outdoor terraces, also received new furniture, including a sofa and an outdoor cantilever umbrella. Consistent with their name, the suites are decorated in white and pastels of mint green and blue, inspired by the Caribbean Sea’s soothing colors.
The two-story Verandah Suites with views of the on-property gardens also underwent a full refurbishment, including the addition of an open bathroom and new layouts to the room and veranda. Each bathroom now has porcelain tiles, a free-standing tranquility soaking tub, a walk-in shower featuring frameless glass shower doors, and a new vanity, while the room refresh includes new Oak closets, a set of sliding doors in lieu of the former windows, a king-sized bed, and bedding and décor in rust, pearl and coral tones. Additionally, the renovation refreshed the 12-foot deep verandas overlooking the island with a love-seat and a coffee table.
Both Seaside and Verandah Suites have amenities such as a mini refrigerator, tea and coffee appliances, and docking station.
Projected to open in autumn 2015, Malabar will expand the resort’s current dining options to include an on-the-beach seaside a la carte restaurant that will be partially surrounded by St. Lucia’s greenery. The dining room will rest under an open sail, and its décor will include dining tables and chairs hand crafted from the local Samaan tree and drift wood. With a maximum capacity of 40, Malabar will be able to accommodate parties of two, four or eight, and reservations will be required. Guests will be able to enjoy light fare made from local island ingredients and daily hand-picked items from the market.
