Island gears up for World Cup cricket next month

St. Lucia
can now add "sports tourism destination" to its resume of tourism
attractions, as it's a host country for the upcoming International Cricket
Council's Cricket World Cup 2007 (ICC-CWC 2007). St. Lucia will host six ICC-CWC
first round games and one ICC-CWC semi-final game March 12-25. The games in St. Lucia will
be played at The Beausejour Cricket Ground.

Windjammer Landings in St. Lucia

The island embarked on a multi-million renovation to the
existing stadium including improvements in infrastructure, the addition of
indoor practice areas, new lighting and wireless Internet service throughout
the stadium, in preparation for the ICC-CWC 2007. In order to accommodate the
large number of ICC-CWC 2007 spectators, additional stands have been added,
raising the capacity of Beausejour Cricket Ground to 30,000.

Rodney Bay Changes Hands

The Rodney Bay Marina has been purchased by Island Global
Yachting (IGY). IGY plans to invest substantially in the improvement of the
marina and its surrounding amenities. Employees and management system will
remain intact.

New Cotton Bay Village

Lucia opened its doors on January 29.

The village aims to reinvent the way a family takes a
holiday together by attempting to create an environment for all ages in an
affluent seaside village setting where visitor-residents are encouraged to
break with the routines of resorts and to design their own activities.

The Pointe Set to Open

The Pointe at Cas en Bas, a private golf club and luxury
residential resort owned by Point Hardy Development LLC, is scheduled to open
in late 2007.

The resort will feature a members-only 18-hole championship
Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course, 113 luxury villa home sites, 224 luxury
condominiums and a 20,000-square-foot spa.

The almost 360-acre The Pointe at Cas en Bas is part of Cap
Estate, a former sugar plantation at the northeast point of St. Lucia, located
between the Atlantic Ocean on its north shore and the Caribbean
to the south and west.

Golf News From Westin

Golf pro "The Shark," Greg Norman, spent January
16 inspecting his soon-to-be championship course at The Westin Le Paradis Beach
& Golf Resort in Praslin Bay,
St. Lucia
is halfway through its construction and on schedule to open in early 2008. Norman's Le Paradis
course offers cliff-side tee boxes and oceanfront greens. The course will be
managed by Troon Golf.
