Singapore Airlines Upgrades Service on San Francisco Flights

January 16, 2009 By: Mark Rogers

Singapore Airlines has upgraded service on its San Francisco-Hong Kong-Singapore route, replacing the Boeing 747 with a Boeing 777-300ER on daily flights. The upgrade complements the carrier’s existing San Francisco/Seoul/Singapore service.

The new aircraft has 278 seats, including eight 35-inch wide First Class seats; 42 horizontal-flat Business Class seats and 228 expanded-width Economy Class seats. All three cabins offer travelers larger LCD monitors with the signature Kris World in-flight entertainment system, which has more than 1,000 on-demand options, iPod and iPhone connectivity, Berlitz language courses and word processing software.

Flight SQ1 departs San Francisco International Airport at 12:05 a.m. daily, touching down in Hong Kong at 6:55 a.m. (+ one day); service continues to Singapore at 8:00 a.m., landing in Changi Airport at 11:50 a.m.
