Singapore's Culinary Campaign

Travel Agent attended a breakfast May 4 held by the Singapore Tourism Board as a part of its Taste of Singapore campaign. The breakfast, held at Daniel Boulud's DB Bistro Moderne in Manhattan, was the last in a series of dining events this week that kicked off on April 29 with a dinner a New York's Double Crown.

We learned that, over the next two years, Singapore will be rolling out a series of initiatives that will help position it as a culinary capital of Asia.

We have been keeping you up to date with the progress of Singapore's new integrated resorts, Marina Bay Sands and Resorts World Sentosa. These new properties play an important role in Singapore's new culinary scene.

Marina Bay Sands will be home to six celebrity chefs, including Mario Batali, Wolfgang Puck, Daniel Boulud, Santi Santamaria, Guy Savoy and Tetsuya Wakuda. Resorts World Sentosa will similarly host four celebrity chefs, including Susur Lee, Scott Webster, Joel Rubuchon and Kunio Tokuoka.

Coming in the spring of this year, Singapore Tourism Board will launch the LuckyRice Festival in New York, an 11-day celebration of Asian food and culinary culture.
