Ragged Mountain Resort in New Hampshire to Open With $1 Million in Upgrades for New Season

The Ragged Mountain Resort in New Hampshire has announced over $1 million in resort improvements for the upcoming winter season.

Spear Mountain and Ragged Mountain will be opened before Christmas Vacation Week, because of the ability to make more snow faster, due to major upgrades to the water delivery system. A brand new, fully automated snowmaking system will be available on Flying Yankee trail and skiers and riders will be able to enjoy the only high-speed, six-passenger chairlift in New Hampshire. There will also be an additional 100 new low-energy, high-efficiency snow guns, as well as a new snow groomer, which will guarantee a consistent snow quality.

The resort is also offering a new frequent skier card, the Get Ragged Card. The skiers and riders who purchase the Get Ragged Card will receive 50 percent off midweek lift ticket rates and 25 percent off weekends and holidays. They will also earn a free day after 10 visits. The card is on sale for adults at $59 and for teens, juniors and seniors at $49. Every card purchased before December 25, 2011 will come pre-loaded with one complimentary early-season lift ticket. The new RFID ticketing system will also allow skiers and riders to purchase any product online and then go directly to the lifts.

There is also a new shop, the Sport Thoma Ski Shop, located in the Elmwood Lodge, which offers the latest ski and snowboard equipment and clothing. Ragged Mountain Season Passholders receive a 10 percent discount at the shop, plus exclusive offers through the season. The Ragged Mountain Resort is scheduled to open on Saturday, November 26, 2011.
