Orbitz Selects Top 10 Ski Destinations for 2010

From the games in Vancouver to the snow storms that have blanketed the country, skiers and snowboarders have plenty of reasons to get excited to hit the slopes. Marking the season's momentum, Orbitz has released its top 10 list of ski destinations for the 2010 ski season.

"It's easy and affordable this year for travelers who are inspired to experience America's ski towns," said David De Lalio, senior market manager, aki and mountains for Orbitz Worldwide. "They will find deals in top resorts like Vail and Aspen that will save them enough to trade up to a four- or five-star hotel."

Lake Tahoe, with its 18 ski resorts, remains the most popular ski destination, taking the top spot on the Orbitz Insider Index for the third consecutive year. Five resorts in Colorado made the list and, with an early winter storm season, East Coast skiers don't have to look far for a winter getaway.

1. Lake Tahoe, CA/NV
2. Breckenridge, CO
3. Park City, UT
4. Vail, CO
5. Winter Park, CO
6. Aspen/Snowmass, CO
7. Jackson Hole, WY
8. Mammoth, CA
9. Killington, VT

The Orbitz Index is based on hotel and package (air + hotel) bookings on Orbitz.com from October 1, 2009 through December 31, 2009, for travel in 2010.
