The Town of Snowmass has appointed Rose Abello as the director of Snowmass tourism. In this role she will oversee all marketing, group sales, special events, public relations and guest services efforts and will be responsible for promoting Snowmass Village as a year-round destination.
Abello starts her new position on September 29.
Named one of the Most Powerful Women in Travel by Travel Agent magazine, Abello was the director of communications for the Aspen Skiing Company from 1997 to 2001. During that time she was responsible for the company’s worldwide public relations efforts for all four mountains, and multiple properties and retail outlets.
Most recently Abello ran her own marketing/strategy consulting firm that worked with such travel companies as Seabourn Cruises, Holland America Line, Global Voyages Group and others.
From 2001-2009 Abello served as the vice president of public relations for Holland America Line, Inc., overseeing the strategic development and implementation of global public relations, special events, corporate social responsibility and social media efforts.
Abello holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Michigan, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Wellesley College.
