Silvertree Hotel & Conference Center to Become Westin Snowmass Resort in 2012

Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. has announced a multimillion dollar renovation to the former Silvertree Hotel and Conference Center in Snowmass Village, Colorado. The 254-room property will reopen as the Westin Snowmass Resort in time for the 2012-2013 ski season.

The renovation will include all 254 guestrooms and expand the Westin Snowmass Resort’s suite offerings to 20, all with slope-side views. The brand-new restaurant, The Snowmass Kitchen, will offer all-day dining with ski-in / ski-out access. The existing gym will become the WestinWORKOUT fitness center overlooking Snowmass Village, the resort’s upper pool will be redeveloped for outdoor events and the lower pool will gain two hot tubs. Starwood will also renovate the 20,000 square foot conference center and reopen it by June 1, 2012.

The Westin Snowmass Resort is within walking distance of the shops and restaurants of Snowmass Village, overlooks the slopes of Snowmass and also offers access to Aspen, Aspen Highlands and Buttermilk. In the summer, the area offers white-water rafting, championship golf courses, horseback riding, hot air balloon rides and hiking.
