Ski Season Far from Done at Whistler Blackcomb

March 30, 2010 By: Kirk Cassels

A powerful March storm dumped 23 inches of snow in the last 48 hours at Whistler Blackcomb, priming the slopes for an epic Easter long weekend of skiing and riding. It's the perfect cure for those experiencing a post-Winter Olympics hangover, and comes right before the TELUS World Ski and Snowboard Festival, which runs April 16-25.

After opening early for the season and breaking records in November, 2009/2010 has become Whistler Blackcomb’s third snowiest winter on record with over 44 feet. The second snowiest season is only slightly higher with 46.5 feet of snow.
“We’re also looking at a great base for spring skiing, which will continue through to May 24,” says Doug MacFarlane, Whistler Blackcomb Mountain Manager.

Nearly 100 percent of Whistler Blackcomb terrain is open— including the men’s Olympic course, the Dave Murray Downhill.
