As spring looms just around the corner, Vermont ski resorts are reporting 80 percent snowmaking coverage and a strong snowpack that officials at Ski Vermont say could extend the season into April. Vermont resorts are now offering a host of spring ski and snowboard deals and local events - here's a roundup.
Local events include a Nantucket Weekend with various businesses from the island, pond skimming, Sugaring Time Festival, and others. Skiing at another mountain? The Show Us Yours, We’ll Show You Ours ticket allows skiers to show a season pass from another mountain and receive a discounted lift ticket.
Stratton Mountain Resort
With the Kids Ski and Stay Free package, children aged 17 and younger stay free when two adults purchase a lift and lodging package. Events include March 7-9’s Vermont Open snowboard competition and music festival, where pro and amateur riders throw down in the halfpipe, rail jam and banked slalom. March 8, the annual Marchdi Gras block party is fun for all ages. March 15 begins the annual 24 Hours of Stratton skiathon and fundraiser in which teams of skiers and snowboarders ride through the night having fun and raising money for the charitable works of the Stratton Foundation.
