Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge and Keystone End Season With Free Concerts And Events

Skking, ColoradoTo celebrate the end of the winter ski season and welcome the coming spring, Colorado’s Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge and Keystone will host a variety of events including Spring Back to Vail, Spring Fever, Pond Skimming, free live concerts and more. After the events, Keystone will close for the season on April 7, followed by Vail, Beaver Creek and Breckenridge on April 14.

Spring Fever, presented by Breckenridge Ski Resort goes from March 17, through April 14, and includes more than forty events for all ages that take place on the mountain and in town. The month-long string of events features the Bud Light Concert Series: Big-name national acts on Saturday and Sunday afternoons on a specially-constructed stage on the mountain at the Peak 8 base. Bands include: The Mighty Mighty Bosstones (April 6), The Dirty Heads (April 7), 3OH!3 (April 13), and Matisyahu (April 14).

Between April 8 and April 14, Vail will celebrate its 50th anniversary ski and snowboard season at Spring Back to Vail, featuring free live concerts from O.A.R, Sublime with Rome, and Jimmy Cliff. Closing day on April 14th will also bring the annual World Pond Skimming Championships, in which athletes launch themselves off an on-snow jump onto an icy pond in an attempt to successfully exit the pond on both feet.

On Sunday, April 7, Keystone Resort will close for the season with the third annual Slush Cup, and the Red Bull Schlittentag. The Slush Cup at the Mountain House Base will kick off Keystone’s official last day of the season, at 10:30am. Participants will have the chance to pond-skim their way to great prizes including three Summit Value Passes in categories including best costume, best crash and best overall. A new event this year, the Red Bull Schlittentag welcomes the recent partnership between Vail Resorts and Red Bull. Schlittentag is the German word for “sledding day.” In the Red Bull Schlittentag, teams of three people will have free range to create the wildest, fastest sleds they can imagine, and race them down Discovery Hill at the Mountain House Base Area.
