Hurtigruten Launches Three New Norway Trips

norwayHurtigruten has announced that it will be offering three new Norwegian expeditions beginning this fall. The travel company said it will use these fall excursions as test runs for its Class Norway Voyages concept beginning in 2016.

Cruising October 22, November 2 and November 19 of this year, each of the three new trips highlights the Norwegian landscape. Departing from Bergen, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, guests will travel to historic fjord-side villages and experience Norwegian culture and cuisine. Cruisers can also enjoy special guest lecturer series throughout their excursion. Among these notable speakers will be Peter Snekkestad, an archaeologist and published author, who will talk about Norse Mythology

Just six miles from the Russian border, guests will experience the polar Northern Lights, go ice dipping in the Arctic Ocean and stop in Hammerfest, Norway’s northern capital.

The sailings are available for six, seven and 12-day voyages. Rates begin at $1,319 per guest.
