Oceanwide Expeditions Announces Arctic Circumnavigation

Oceanwide Expeditions has announced that it its vessels m/v Ortelius and m/v Plancius were the first to circumnavigate Spitsbergen this season. 

The company offers several voyages to polar climates, including trips to Lofoten, Senja and South Greenland in the Arctic and voyages to the Falkland Islands and the Ross Sea in Antarctica

Oceanwide’s most popular Arctic trip journeys are to East Spitsbergen, where passengers will experience the unique climate and wildlife of the uninhabitable land aboard the m/v Ortelius. With the guidance of 60 onboard scientists, guests will tour mining towns, explore a beach covered in whale bones, see artic fox and polar bear, hike the Ivory Gulls in Agardhfjellet and more. 

The 10-day, nine-night expedition sets sail on August 19, 2015. The voyage includes all onboard meals, onshore excursions, lectures by scientists on the ship, complimentary hiking equipment and baggage transfers. 

The East Spitsbergen voyage begins at $7,000 per twin porthole.
