Star Clippers to Offer Dance, Photo Theme Cruises This Winter

star clippersTall ship sailing specialist Star Clippers has announced a lineup of expert speakers onboard their Caribbean sailings this winter: Jenny Schatzle, fitness expert and nutrition specialist; David Handshuh, award-winning photojournalist who spent 28 years at the New York Daily News; Ben Allen, choreographed dance instructor and owner of GROOV3; and Joel Harper, personal trainer to the stars. All four will be part of a special lecture series that Star Clippers is introducing in the Caribbean this winter, and will be continuing in Europe this spring and summer with additional guest lecturers.

Onboard Schatzle will be doing workouts and a talk on weight loss, helping guests to stay motivated to stay healthy and fit. Schatzle will show guests how to love working out and make time for themselves.  

Star Clipper, St Maarten Departure: February 13, 2016 – Speaker David Handschuh

Handschuh has spent more than 30 years as an award winning New York City based photographer and writer. He been nominated for a Pulitzer Prize three times and he’s traveled from North Pole to South Pole, scuba diving in a fjord above the Arctic Circle and tenting overnight in Antarctica. Handschuh lectures around the world on photojournalism, newspaper work, food and cocktail photography and travel photography. Onboard he will help passengers improve the quality of their photographs on land and sea, sharing advanced techniques for camera enthusiasts and tips on watching light.

Royal Clipper, Barbados Departure: February 13, 2016 – Speaker Ben Allen

International choreographer and creator of the dance fitness movement GROOV3 Benjamin Allen will lead guests in his low impact, non-stop cardio dance party. No experience is necessary and all ages are welcome. Allen will also lecture on the science and benefits behind dancing through life.

NYC celebrity personal trainer Joel Harper has been developing custom workouts for personal training in New York City for over 20 years. His clients range from Dr. Oz to Olympic medalists. Onboard, he will lead workouts, lecture on fitness and host a discussion on the 10 tools for success from his new book Mind Your Body. He will detail how important it is to maintain a healthy balanced lifestyle and working out without needing a gym.
