Typhoon Kompasu Hits Seoul

Typhoon Kompasu blasted South Korea today, September 2, resulting in the death of at least four and the destruction of trees, streetlights and scaffolding. According to the Associated Press, this is the strongest storm to hit the Seoul area in 15 years.

As of now, South Korean flights, two Seoul subway lines and five railway routes have been suspended. The storm was expected to have left the area by Thursday evening, but over three inches of rain could fall throughout Friday.

North Korea has also been affected by the typhoon, but no fatalities have been reported.
