Spanish Unions Agree to Keep Planes Flying During Strike

MadridSpain is bracing for a general strike on September 29, when trade unions are expected to walk off the job in a protest of austerity cuts and labor reform.

There is some light at the end of the tunnel, however...or at least a glimmer: Reuters is reporting that the trade unions have reached an agreement with the government to provide a minimum of between 20 and 40 percent of international flights. At least one-quarter of train services would run, the report continues, rising to 30 percent at rush hour.
