CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — Ski areas in New Hampshire — many of which have expanded their summer and fall offerings to zip-lining, mountain coasters and festivals — are reporting some gains in revenue and visits over last year.

Weddings at resorts also have become more popular.

Loon Mountain Resort, for example, reported revenue up 3 percent over last summer and fall. The resort cites strong business from the gondola skyrides and weddings, as well as a record year for the New Hampshire Highland Games & Festival in September.

Cannon Mountain's Aerial Tramway was up 12 percent in revenue and 7 percent in visits over last summer.

Mount Sunapee Resort officials say the Evolution Bike Park, added to the Adventure Park this summer, was popular. It features four trails for all abilities.

Jessyca Keeler, executive director of Ski NH, said some of the resorts are working to expand their mountain biking offerings, including lift-serviced mountain biking.

Waterville Valley reports bike rentals were up 24 percent from last summer, probably due to increased exposure to its mountain biking system as well as the addition of Fat Bikes to its rental fleet.
