Sharon Katzav has joined the Israel Ministry of Tourism as Regional Director for the Northeastern United States regional office. She will be taking over for Michal Itzik, who has returned to Israel after serving as the previous director for the past four years.

Before she joined the Israel Ministry of Tourism, Katzav had been a medical representative for Taro Pharmecutical Industries in Israel.

“It’s a joy to be here and serve as the new director of the Northeast USA regional office,” said Katzav. “It is my hope that we can continue to foster a strong relationship with the tourism community as we continue to urge travelers to ‘Come Find the Israel in You.’”

Katzav was born and raised in Herzliya, Israel. Her first job for her country came at the age of 17, when she was part of a special delegation of young Israeli ambassadors that traveled to France. She served as a medic in the Air Force, and then earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Science from The Hebrew University in Jerusalem, as well as a Master’s in Business Administration with a concentration in marketing from Ben-Gurion University.
