Travel Leaders' Barbara Blattner RetiresNovember 30, 2015 By: Newswire
Travel Leaders has announced that its vice president of association relations, Barbara Blattner, has retired.
Blattner was celebrated for her long tenure, which spanned over 35 years in the travel industry, during the recent Travel Leaders National Meeting in ChampionsGate, Florida, where her retirement was first announced to Travel Leaders members earlier this month.
Roger E. Block, president of Travel Leaders Franchise Group, has said that a search has been initiated to fill the vacancy, and candidates within Travel Leaders, as well as outside of the company, will be considered. Potential applicants can review the position description for “Vice President-Franchise Services” at the Travel Leaders careers website here.
After first entering the travel industry in 1977, Blattner joined Travel Leaders in 1997 as a business development manager, the precursor to the Travel Leaders position now known as a regional franchise consultant. While she retired from the company in 2004, she rejoined the organization in 2009 as Travel Leaders’ director of regional franchise consultants and was soon promoted to her most recent position as vice president of associate relations.
Blattner also developed Travel Leaders’ Associates benchmarking program, unveiled a new implementation process on Travel Leaders’ intranet for new Associate agencies, and organized a team of Travel Leaders agencies that launched the Midwest Agent Retreat, which is held every fall and is popular with the Minnesota and Wisconsin agencies. The program was so successful it expanded to the entire Regional Franchise Consultant team and led to additional agent initiatives, such as Boot Camp and Booking Bingo.
