Rocco Forte Reopens Historic Geneva Hotel

January 29, 2008 By: Travel Agent Central Contributor Travel Agent

The Rocco Forte Collection has just reopened Le Richemond in Geneva, following a nearly two-year renovation.

The hotel, set in the center of Geneva, facing the famous Brunswick Gardens and overlooking the Alps, Lake Geneva, and the Old Town Cathedral, now sports the city’s largest city-center hotel spa and the first dedicated Shiseido spa in Switzerland. Also new is the Royal Armleder Suite (shown above), which occupies the entire top floor of the hotel.  Named after the family that formerly owned Le Richemond, the suite is nearly 2,700 square feet (but can be broken down into as many as three junior suites as well).

Geneva is seeing a luxury renaissance; last week we reported that the Four Seasons Hotel des Bergues Geneva (, six months after revealing its renovated Royal Suite, has debuted its brand-new Presidential Suite.

Meanwhile, Rocco Forte has also recently opened The Charles Hotel in Munich in October. Designed by Olga Polizzi, the new-build property is set in the city’s Botanical Gardens. Its presidential suite can be combined with a further three suites to create an entire private floor covering 4,900 square feet. The Charles Hotel also offers a large spa facility and an Italian restaurant with a terrace and two bars.
